Aurora Borealis Jul-Dec 2000

Fall 2000 was pretty good a season for auroras, although no really big displays could be observed (mainly due to poor weather when there was good activity). Image re11653 is from the first display that was bright enough to be photographed directly from our terass over the city of Turku - thus very bright. Note in image re12612 strange red-brown aurora low in south against gibbous moon.
