THESE ARE (VERY) OLD SLIDE SCANS. SLIDES WILL BE RE-SCANNED, IMAGES ENLARGED AND NEW SLIDES SCANNED IN FUTURE.

he05533 is the last phase in a nacreous cloud display: clouds have turned into pretty normal looking twillight. Only difference to normal is that this happens well after cirrus clouds have been turned off. Note in he05851 that as the contrail is still bathing in sunlight then also the other yellow clouds are ordinary clouds. Nacreous cloud is the whitish stuff above this.
Images ta2042 and ta2044 show an extremely conspicious colour of evening twillight (away from the sun) caused by nacreous clouds. This kind of evening colour most certainly is noticed by everyone who looks out. There is a feeling that "sun did set and evening was becoming dark, but suddenly it as if started to brighten up again..."
