Noctilucent clouds 2007 and page 1 of 2008

2007 was not properly observed due to travelling (I was gone for the last week of June and the two first weeks of July). Thus only 9 sightings were documented. However, the year was neither too good: usually the two last weeks in July and the first week in August are the best months for NLCs, and in spite of "normal weather" there were not too many displays. The first 12 images are from 2007.

In 2008 27 displays were observed. Five of these were nice and bright. A DSLR was first time used for a more serious photography (images "DSB---" and "DSC---"). Ofcourse, a semiprofessional DSLR produces reasonable results and obviously even more so, when I get used to the camera and when I start using RAW-files. (All material is photographed in JPG in 2008-2009; RAW is an issue in 2010!) One great thing in digital is its linear response curve showing details also in shadows.
